At the heart of the golfing activities of the club is the Professional's shop which is run by fully qualified professional, Andrew Palmer and his team. Andrew offers tuition, both indoor and outdoor, golf services and advice to both members and visitors and his well-stocked shop provides an excellent range of the best known brands of golfing equipment and clothing.
Andy Palmer - Head Professional
With a BA Honours Degree in Golf Management and as a fully qualified PGA Professional, Andy has previously been Assistant Professional at Chorley since 2015 prior to starting as our Head Professional in March 2021 and has been a member of Chorley GC since 2003. Andy continues to play in both Professional and ProAm Tournaments throughout the year, with wins on both the Lancashire & North Region Tours. Andy also focuses his attention on the Juniors of the club running academies in the school holidays and also works with the local Golf Foundation representative, Andy Lee, bringing golf into schools under the Golf Roots initiative. Andy has a fully up to date DBS check and Child Safeguarding.
Connor MacGowan
Connor is a PGA Professional with over 10 years tournament playing experience. He also has a wealth of knowledge in custom fitting having previously worked at American golf stores as well as golf clubs giving him a wide range of knowledge across all brands.
Having completed his PGA degree in October 2023, Connor will be offering coaching services to golfers of all ages and abilities at Chorley Golf Club to both members and visitors. He also coaches a group called GolfForeTheAges which is for elderly golfers with disabilities alongside junior academies and 1 to 1 lessons.
